Plan for Safety

While parents may not realize it almost all children are aware of abuse in the home. Seeing abuse or violence in the home affects all children in some way.

You can plan for safety with your child and provide him/her with emotional support.

Help is available for you and your children and most services are at no cost.
Support Services
YWCA/New Beginnings - 562-5739 (provides short term counseling for victims of domestic violence and support groups)

YWCA Shelter & Helpline - (800) 796-8711 (Springfield office)

Hampden County DA's Office Mom's Safety First Project/Family Protection Unit - (413) 452-1143 (Provides mothers with community-based resources and referrals)

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under a tree on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
